HAPPY EXTRA'S (VIDEOS OF BAILEY)

We'll see if I can get this to work, if so enjoy, if not...I'll most likely remove this post. :) Merry Christmas!

Watch Bailey dance with the One Eyed, One Horned, Flying Purple People Eater!

We've thought about buying Bailey...and Chris a puppy...but not for a while.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello to everyone. Sorry it has been so long since my last post. It's been a crazy world in Pethtel land. We had to take Bailey to the doctor yesterday because she's been a little sick, and found out she has a viral infection in her intestines. Other than that, the doctor says she's incredibly healthy and impressed at how advanced she is. She's doing more than most 4 month old do, so that's good to hear. She finally crested that 10 pound marker. She now weighs 10 pounds 3 ounces and is as beautiful as can be. I posted a few pictures so everyone can see how wonderful she is. We love you all and those of you in Texas, we hope to see you soon. We'll be coming home for a short visit after the new year...it's still undecided when exactly, but we're trying to find the cheapest tickets possible (which is absolutely impossible in my opinion), but it's looking to be closer to February or March as opposed to original dreams of January. But hey, We ARE coming...that's what matters....and I CAN'T WAIT!!!! Love you guys, miss you. MERRY CHRISTmas and HAPPY NEW YEAR from the Pethtel Family...Chris, Jocelyn, and Bailey!

Getting big!

Wow, i'ts been a long time. I didn't realize how long until I logged in to post today. We've been very short staffed at the bank and we've had some troubles with our internet at home, so I haven't had a lot of time to update Bailey's blog. She's getting so big now. I had to take her to the doctor last wednesday because she was sick and she weighed in at 8lbs 14oz. So, we're almost to 9 pounds...maybe at her 4 month appointment (which will be sometime this month). Anyways, she had bronchitis and was on antibiotics, and is doing much better now. She's beautiful as ever and is growing up so fast. I feel like I miss so much when I'm at work, but I'm on "vacation" for the next 5 days, (basically I had 2 1/2 days of vacation that had to be used before the end of the year). I'm going to try to post some new updated photos of Bailey and a new video, but we'll have to see how that goes.

The video isn't working, but I"ll try again tomorrow. I have to tell you something. We got a new gaming system in our house. I'm very excited about this because we have a playstation 2 and Chris plays by himself (I don't know how to use the complicated remotes and/or how to play the games), so I'm part of a panel that tests new products for companies and then tries to spread the word about the product if I like it. Well, we got this game system called a game wave. Usually you get the products for free, but this is obviously a bigger product than usual, so for $49.00 we got the gaming system with 6 remotes and 5 games. I just got it in today and was reading up on it. It looks like a ton of fun and I can't wait to play it. Chris said we could play tonight when I get home from my work party thing. I will tell you after looking through some of the preliminary paperwork and what not, there are several fun games for this gaming system including a Bible game. Like I said, I can't wait to try it out. I have coupons for my friends to try it out as well for the same price that I got it for. I got online on their website and everything we got retails for over $200.00, so to get it for $50 is a really good deal. If you're interested in trying it out, let me know and I'll either send you an email link to get the same deal, or I'll send you one of the coupons in the mail, but you can check it out for yourself at playgamewave.com. Anyways, this is supposed to be about Bailey, but there's not much else to say.

Oh yea, we were able to buy a new camera on Black Friday, so I should be able to post more pictures soon. The ones at the top were taken at Aunt Wendy's house. Abby wanted her under the tree because she told Wendy that she thinks Bailey's the best gift. Isn't that sweet??? I cried when Wendy told me that. Well, I gotta get going. Love you guys and miss. Don't forget to comment.

No Rest for the Weary!

I feel like I have tons to catch up on, so I'll start with yesterday. Unfortunately, yesterday was a sad day for all of us. Bailey got her shots and during the entire appointment she was smiling, cooing, having a good time. Then that mean lady poked her with 3 needles...she turned bright red and started screaming. My poor baby. She's finally 8 pounds though...yes, 8 pounds even and 22 inches long at 10 weeks of age. Doctor said she looked healthy, just a little pale (have you seen her mommy??? I'm WHITE!!!) When the doctor seemed concerned, I pulled up my sleeve and showed her how white I was...she said, "Oh my, you're white...you can see all your veins." So, we now know that I'm obviously unusually white. Then, we found out that we're getting no help from FEMA...the apartment is still liveable...even though we weren't able to move back into it, and not to mention the belongings that we lost (the biggest thing being Bailey's crib). So, the good Lord will provide when He see necessity to. And then, as we all know, Obama was chosen as our next president. I fear for the years to come ahead, but once again, the good Lord will get us through it or take us home.

Jana still hasn't had Cambree and we're all anxiously awaiting her arrival...she goes to the doctor today where she will have her normal appointment and then will be scheduling an induction so we know when precious Cambree will be here.
There are finally some pictures on here of Bailey. She was a lady bug for Halloween (the only costume we could find to fit was a dog costume...you can't even tell...can you??? LOL) The other pictures of her are at 2 months exactly on October 26. I'm going to try to add another video, so I hope it works. This video is her and her best friend Raffie (Giraffe)...she loves him and talks to him (as you can see in the video). Love ya and Talk to you later.

No MoreTears!!

Hi all, I just wanted to give you a brief update on Bailey and the hernia/surgery situation. I can't be long because I am at work, and I don't want to get in trouble. Anyways, Chris took Bailey to a new doctor this past Monday, and everything is fine. She is a perfectly healthy little 2 month angel. The bubble is simply a muscle that will be less noticeable as she gets older and starts to gain weight. So just to let you know, she's finally 7 pounds and 7 ounces and she's 8 weeks old as of this past Tuesday. We also had to reschedule her 2 month wellness check and shots because the reason her pediatrician has been out of the office is because of an unexpected medical leave. So she'll be having her first round of shots on election day...yep, November 4 will be a pretty crazy day for us. Thank you for all your prayers, love and support during this incredibly emotional time.

One more update on our housing situation. We have been in contact with FEMA and are waiting a response to see if we are available for any kind of assistance during this time...hopefully we'll know something soon...we just applied for the assistance on Wednesday night (we almost missed the deadline because we knew nothing about it. Chris tried to call them all week and never got a response about it, so we heard from a family member that the deadline was Wednesday...we barely made it). Also, we are attempting to be out on our own by November 1...we'll see how this goes (we're just trying to contact the people offering the apartment to us). This is going to be a lot of driving, so please keep us in your prayers because it could be frustrating for me (spending more time driving my baby to the babysitters than actually getting to spend with her)...but we'll see how it goes. Talk to you later! Love ya!

P.S. I tried to upload pictures of Bailey, and it says it's doing it, but for some reason, they're not showing up. Sorry...I'll try later!

To cut or not to cut??? That is the Question

Okay, so here is an update from last week's issue. We took Bailey to this Pediatric Specialist on Wednesday and basically felt like we were wasting this doctor's time. We drove an hour to see this specialist, mind you, only for her to walk in the room, and without even introducing herself, be rudely asked why we were there. I told her what the issue was and with merely glancing at my daughter's tummy, she automatically knew there was nothing wrong with Bailey. (Wow, she must really be special with x-ray vision and all...she didn't even touch Bailey). So anyways, after leaving the doctor's office, neither myself or Chris had peace about the outcome of the visit, so we're getting a second opinion. I called her pediatrician and told them what was going on, only to find out that her actual pediatrician is out of the office until November. So, off to find a new pediatrician (because she's the only ped. in this particular office). I called the doctor we had originally wanted to try as Bailey's doctor (until we met Dr. Drab at the hospital), and come to find out, she's in the same practice...just a different office. So we won't have to do anything special, just show up to the new doctor's office for a second opinion. Hopefully all will go well. Basically, if the new doctor says all is well, we'll take it as a scare from the original doctor, if she is hesitant, we'll most likely have some tests run and get a deeper look at what might be the bubble in Bailey's tummy. I hope this wasn't too confusing and all over the place, but my mind is reeling right now thinking maybe something is wrong and maybe it's just fine. GRRR!!! I hate doctors, sometimes I feel like I know more than them, but then I realize, I don't have the degree, so I'll just have to trust them. So, that's the current update.

Chris is supposed to take Bailey for some pictures today, so I might see about scanning them and putting them on the blog. Talk to you all later (oh and by the way, she hums to herself...partially because Chris and I sing to her all the time...and partially because I think she comes by it naturally). Talk to you later!

Bailey at Play

This is a picture my sister-in-law sent me from her phone this morning. She also sent me a video and I'll try to see if I can upload it where it actually works. It's not long, but you can see her in action, if I can make it work. Hope you all enjoy, and I hope it works for you.

Now that I've gotten the pictures and the video part done, now time for an update on Bailey. I had to take Bailey to the doctor unexpectedly on Tuesday because she had a lump on her belly. It turns out it is a rather large umbilical hernia (common in infants and especially in preemies). So, we have to go see a pediatric surgeon next Wednesday the 15th, so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We would most certainly appreciate it. I'm at work right now, so I should probably actually get some work done instead of updating my precious Baby's website. We love you all and I will try to update more later!

Separation Anxiety

Okay, so Bailey is doing fine with Mommy going back to work, Mommy on the other hand, is a nervous wreck. I hate being away from my Baby Girl!!! I wish I could stay home with her, but unfortunately the Lord hasn't made us rich quite yet :) Anyways, I went back to work on Wednesday and today is my second day back. The first day was absolutely heart wrenching, but today was a little easier. I'm incredibly ready for 5:00 to be here so I can go home and see her again, but we're getting closer with every passing minute. I'm back part time currently, and within 3 weeks I'll be back to full time working status, so I'm getting used to it slowly, but surely. We still haven't found a place to live, so we're still with my in-laws, but it's giving us a chance to catch up on things and what not. We're also still waiting to hear from FEMA if we're going to receive any government assistance. So anyways, in a nutshell, we're doing okay, ready to get out on our own again and live like a normal family again LOL (whatever normal is).

An update on Bailey, she went to the doctor last Friday and is finally back up to her birth weight. She is 6 pounds 6 ounces, 21 1/2 inches long (man, I feel like I'm talking about a newborn). She is 5 1/2 weeks old now. I can't believe it's been 5 weeks since I first held my little peanut in my arms. She really isn't much different, more alert and active, and a little longer, but other than that, she hasn't changed much. I can't wait to see her...I just want to go home (I already said that, but this day just seems to be dragging on along...GRRRR!!!). Anyways, her next appointment is October 26 and she will have to get her shots already. I think I'm going to scream and cry more than she will. My heart already hurts just thinking about watching them stick my little girl with a needle. Oh well, such is life in these United States.

I'm going to try to email myself some pictures tonight from my in-laws computer, if it works, then I will upload them tomorrow so that you can see some new pictures of Bailey and possibly some of our flood pictures. Hope everyone is doing well. Love ya and miss ya and talk to you later!

1 month old and homeless

So, just a quick update for those that haven't heard yet. We were flooded out of apartment on September 15 and have been living with my in-laws. It's been a little crowded because there are 8 of us total in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment and it's been a little crazy. So anyways, we're looking at moving into an apartment next weekend, so it's going to be nice to be on our own again. Only problem is it's going to be a drive in order to get Bailey my mother-in-laws. It will be back tracking to take her to the house, only to turn around and go back to work, but I am currently trying to find something in Morris anyway so that way I can drop Bailey off and then go to work in the same city. Sorry if this sounds all over the place, I'm a bit scatter brained right now, as you can imagine. Chris' grandpa is in town as well, so we're having a good time given the circumstances. The Lord is good and the damage wasn't too bad, so we're blessed to have our lives and most of our belongings. Our biggest loss was the baby crib, but we've already been offered another crib by a family in our church, (that and the home that we're moving into is furnished with a crib). It's a very tiny apartment, but it will serve it's purpose for how long we're going to be here before we move to California.

Well, I talked to Jana this morning and she's doing well. She is currently 34 weeks pregnant and measuring 36, so they'll start checking her at her next appointment. We're curious to see what Cambree is going to look like. I should probably get off the internet. They use dial up which is tying up the phone. Hope all of you are doing well. I tried to post pictures, but it's not working (most likely because of the connection), so once I get a chance, I'll post pictures. That's the other thing, when we get moved, we most likely won't have internet service, so I'll try to update at work, we'll have to wait and see if they have cracked down on that stuff when I get back. I go back to work next Wednesday, so pray for me because I'm already really emotional about it. Talk to you later!

Tell Me Who

This is just to show you how tiny she was...Bailey compared to a baby doll

The first picture is me, second picture is Bailey, bottom picture is Chris

Okay, so the fight since she was born, who does she look like??? I say she looks like me when I was born, Chris says she looks like him. After looking at the pictures, I say she's a good mixture of us both...BUT, due to the lack of her eyebrows and eyelashes, I'm fairly sure she'll be turning blonde some day and thus will look more like her mommy. :) That's just my opinion...so I thought I'd let you decide. Look at the pictures and tell me, who does she look like???

With every passing day, I pray and pray that there would be a way we could afford for me to stay at home with my little girl, but I know that the Lord wants us in California, and in order for this to happen, I have to go back to work, so we can save up the money we need to get there. GRRR, I go to the doctor on Wednesday to find out when I'll be released to return to the work, we also have some bills to deal with while there, so please pray that things will turn in our favor regarding this matter. We're having to pay for 6 sonograms that were done, due to some complications in July, and that's over $3000.00 that we don't have, despite the fact that if only we'd known they wouldn't be covered, we would've never allowed them to be done in the first place. So, sorry, that I completely decided to ramble on and on about that, hope you all are having a wonderful day. Miss you and love you lots!

First Blog

All About Bailey

For those that might not know, Bailey is a very special girl. Every parent thinks this about their children, I'm pretty sure of that, but Bailey is still very special to us. She is very loved and at 2 weeks old is already spoiled rotten, I can assure you of that. Bailey was born August 26, 2008 at 8:49 in the evening. She was 6 pounds 6.4 ounces 18 1/2 inches long. She just had her 2 week check up yesterday, she is currently 5 pounds 15 ounces and 20 inches long, so she's growing slowly but surely.

She's already had a pretty busy life. The day we were released from the hospital, we had her pictures taken at walmart. Then the next day, we went to the mall to have her pictures taken at JC Penney's, but they didn't have any openings, so we went to Picture People and had her pictures done there. Then on Tuesday the following week (while her MiMi, DeeDee, and Grandma were here), we went back to JC Penney's and had her pictures done there. So, as you can tell, we've spent lots of money on pictures because we know that she'll only be this tiny once in her life. Anyways, we're pretty proud of Bailey and can't wait to watch her grow. If the Lord wills, she'll be making her first BIG trip in February of next year. We'll be moving out to California so her daddy can go back to school to become a pastor. We're very excited, but very nervous, and we just have to remember that the Lord will provide as long as it's His will.

Lastly, mommy is already freaking out because she'll have to go back to work soon, and this is causing some anxiety. Mommy's not too sure she wants to be so far away from her baby (I work 30 minutes away from home), so she's currently trying to find something closer to home. We'll see how that goes. Well, I guess that's all for now. This was just an overview into Bailey's life. Check back frequently to learn what new things Bailey does from day to day. Love ya!
